CHANGCHUN - Tourism between Northeast China's Jilin province and the neighboring Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will recommence after a six month lacuna, local tourism authorities said on Thursday.

According to travel agencies in Jilin's Ji'an City, the first group tour to Pyongyang will start on April 13, and day trips to the city of Manpo will start on April 21.

Tourist excursions were suspended when DPRK closed its border due to the growing Ebola threat on Oct. 2014.

Ji'an, one of the three entry ports to DPRK, has sent more than 3,000 tourists to the country since the 1990s. Local tourism authorities are exploring more routes for both tour groups and individual road trips.
