A city in East China's Shandong province has closed all kindergartens due to forest fire.
The fire broke out on a wooded mountain in the costal city of Weihai, regarded as one of China's most favorable place for living, on Thursday afternoon.
More than 2,000 firefighters, soldiers and one helicopter are dispatched to put out the fire, while the city has opened two emergency shelters to help residents.
“The fire was basically extinguished, but the possibility of occurring again remains high,” a government statement said.
No casualties have been reported. Investigations into the cause of the fires are under way.
