4.8-magnitude quake hits 33km NNW of Taitung City, Taiwan

HONG KONG - An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted 33km NNW of Taitung City, Taiwan at 02:38: 15 Hong Kong Time on Wednesday (2014-01-14 18:38:15 GMT ), the US Geological Survey said.    

The epicenter, with a depth of 11.79 km, was initially determined to be at 23.0493 degrees north latitude and 121.0563 degrees east longtitude.
