Hit by drought since mid-October, the largest freshwater lake in China has seen its water level drop to 8.2 meters on Wednesday, close to its seasonal low water level of 8 meters. Satellite images showed the lake shrank to 1,375 square kilometers, the smallest during the same period in the past decade. [Photo/Xinhua] |
