The Chinese astronauts extend their Dragon Boat Festival greeting to Chinese people in Shenzhou X spacecraft on June 12, 2013. A piece of paper with blessing words saying "Happy Dragon Boat Festival" was shown by one of the astronauts. China launched Shenzhou X manned spacecraft loarded with three astronausts, at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China's Gansu province yesterday. To help form a festival atmosphere in the spacecraft, some zongzis, a traditional Chinese food for the festival made of glutinous rice stuffed with various fillings, were also prepared before the launch for the astronauts. The festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn] |
