New Chinese Ambassador arrives in US to assume office

WASHINGTON - Ambassador Cui Tiankai, the new Chinese Ambassador to the United States, arrived in Washington, DC on Tuesday to assume office.
Cui was greeted by representatives from the US State Department and diplomats from the Chinese Embassy.
Ambassador Cui is the 10th Chinese Ambassador to the United States. He served as Chinese Vice Foreign Minister from 2010 to 2013, and prior to that, Chinese Ambassador to Japan.
His predecessor, Ambassador Zhang Yesui, completed his tenure and returned to China on Feb 24.
