Helicopter firm set up in Jingdezhen
A State-owned helicopter investment firm has been registered in Jiangxi province, in a bid to grab a share of the country's growing civil helicopter market.
The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Jiangxi said Wednesday that the company has been set up with 50 million yuan ($7.9 million) in capital.
Its inauguration in the city of Jingdezhen is pending.

Entrepreneurs at business summit
Entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan are in Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu province, to attend a cross-Straits business summit this week.
Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Lien Chan, honorary chairman of the Kuomintang party, are attending the event.

Pingyao hosts photography gala
A photography festival opened Wednesday in the ancient city of Pingyao, drawing more than 1,700 exhibitors from both China and abroad.
More than 13,000 images created by professional and amateur photographers from 45 countries and regions will be displayed in 332 shows during the weeklong 12th Pingyao International Photography Festival, in the city in North China's Shanxi province.
National pavilions showcasing the development of photography and local customs in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and four Nordic countries, have been set up for the first time, the festival's organizing committee said.

2 more navigation satellites launched
China successfully launched another two satellites into space for its indigenous global navigation and positioning network at 3:10 am Beijing time on Wednesday.
The satellites, launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Southwest China's Sichuan province, were boosted into space by a Long March-3B carrier rocket.
State to support intellectuals
The State High-Level Talents Special Support Program, also called the 10,000-Elite Program, took place at the central government's work conference on specialists on Wednesday.
About 10,000 talented people, in the fields of natural sciences, engineering and social sciences, will be selected from domestic intellectuals in the coming 10 years, and receive special support from the State for their development, according to the program.
Free surgery for young patients
Fourteen children from Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region arrived in Beijing on Tuesday to receive free surgery to treat congenital heart disease.
The children were selected from 54 ill children in Lhasa after meeting the criteria for surgery, said Xie Xianghui, deputy director of Lhasa's health bureau.
The children will be operated on at the Beijing Anzhen Hospital and Beijing Children's Hospital.
