China is determined to have 100 globally influential industrial brands and 1,000 domestically renowned brands by 2015, said Yang Xueshan, vice-minister of industry and information technology, at the Brand Leader Summit on Aug 25.
During the event a total of 152 industrial brands were honored as top brands of the China Brand Power Index, or C-BPI, which is a benchmark index that evaluates brands in China and was created by the China Brand Research Center.
A total of 68 percent of the 152 brands are local Chinese brands from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
