Shandong police shot a wolf dead on Monday following seven suspected attacks on people in Tengzhou in six days.

They have not confirmed that the dead wolf is the one responsible for the attacks.

Police found the wolf in a wheat field and chased it for 20 kilometers before killing it.

It was reported that two people died and five were injured in the attacks. One boy was said to have been wounded by a grey wolf-like beast on his way to school. One of the fatalities was a 62-year-old woman.

The local forestry department said spring is the breeding season for wolves and they can come down from the hills to hunt for food. But a resident said there were people who raised wolves, and the animals could escape.

Farmer thought DNA test was bull-proof idea

A farmer in Jinzhai county, Anhui province, wanted to give a bull a DNA test to prove the animal was his.

The farmer surnamed Zhan brought a lawsuit against a villager surnamed Chen, claiming that Chen had sold the black bull he had lost two months ago.

The bull was recently found at the property of a man surnamed Yang. During the hearing, Zhan was told by his lawyer that a DNA test was too expensive, costing about 10,000 yuan ($1,580), much more than the bull was worth. The court is to make a judgment without the test.
