A brick worker has published a bestselling book, the newspaper Orient Today reported on Monday.
Wang Ziqun, of Xiamen, in eastern China’s Fujian province, finished a 210,000-word novel and put it online early this year. The novel recorded more than 500,000 hits in less than a month, and on one day even had 180,000 hits.
A publisher in northwestern Shaanxi province contacted Wang and agreed to publish his story, Temporary Couples, which came out last month. Ten thousand books were sold within 10 days.
Wang usually writes about the lives of migrant workers, their thoughts, laughter and tears. He has long nursed a dream to be a professional writer and tell stories about ordinary people.
