Belarussian, Chinese officials meet to promote ties

MINSK - Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich on Tuesday met with Hu Chunhua, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Party chief of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

During the meeting, Myasnikovich asked Hu to convey greetings to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

Myasnikovich said that the two countries, which have enjoyed a strong foundation for their relationship, have seen intensified high-level contacts and fruitful cooperation in various fields in recent years.

The Belarusian side will continue to pursue a policy of friendship in handling the relations with China and promote cooperation with China in various fields.

Hu said that the long-lasting, stable and healthy development of China-Belarus relations is in the common interest of both countries and peoples. He expressed hope that through his visit, the two countries will further enhance bilateral cooperation.

The CPC delegation headed by Hu arrived in Minsk on Monday for a visit at the invitation of the presidential administration of Belarus.
