China's coal-rich Shanxi province has gotten the green light to raise the on-grid power price, the 21st Business Herald reported Friday.
On-grid power price per kilowatt hour in Shanxi is 0.1 yuan lower than the national average, said an industry insider in the province.
The 11 major power producers in the province reported a total loss of 9.71 billion yuan during 2008 to 2010, the insider told the paper.
China's average electricity sales price would surpass 0.7 yuan per kilowatt hour by 2015, and 0.8 yuan per kilowatt by 2020, according to a draft plan for China's power industry in the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015).
