Chen Hua, assistant of CNNC President said the results of this detailed seismic map will be made public, providing people with updated accurate information.

He added that the five phases of a nuclear power plant – location, design, construction, commissioning, operation and expiration – have followed strict rules and technical specifications which are consistent to the international and International Atomic Energy Agency standards.

Those plants are designed to withstand major natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunami and typhoons and have emergency power supply systems as back up. The National Nuclear Safety Administration has conducted detailed technical reviews and site supervision during the five phases.
