Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, the world's second-largest telecommunications equipment maker, said it will expand sales of IT equipment to Japan-based companies and expects revenue from its enterprise business to rise tenfold to $500 million by 2017, nikkei.com reported.
Xu Wenwei, executive director of Huawei’s enterprise division, said that Japan is a key strategic market, and there are a lot of opportunities for Huawei to make long-term investments there.
Huawei plans to increase its sales revenue from its worldwide enterprise business fourfold to $10 billion by 2017, of which 60 percent would come from overseas. The pace of expansion in Japan will surpass the overall level.
Huawei positions IT equipment sales for common enterprises as its third business pillar, aside from its traditional major business of providing telecom carriers with network infrastructure and portable device sales.
Huawei established its enterprise business sector in Japan in April 2012. It currently has 400 types of products including servers and storage devices on sale.
