Home sales in China's major cities fell in September after a strong rebound in the previous months, data from real estate consultancy Century 21st showed on Monday.
As of September 15, around 7,500 units of new apartments had been sold in Beijing, down 7.4 percent month-on-month.
Shenzhen and Chengdu saw new home sales dropping some 30 percent compared with the previous month. Shanghai, however, experienced an increase of 7.4 percent on a monthly basis.
"After a strong rebound in the past few months, the market demand has realized a full release. If policies remain unchanged, the new demand will not catch up," said Zhang Lei, analyst with Century 21st.
