Alcoholic agrees to be chained by the neck to give up drinking
A 30-year-old man in Bengbu, Anhui province was chained by his neck to a four meter long chain and locked most of time in a 10 sq meter attic of his home to stay sober from drinking, icpress.cn reported.
In the attic, Zhang rarely sleeps, and only eats one steamed bun per meal. A laptop and some cheery wallpaper are the only entertainment he has.
Zhang used to be a professional driver until six months ago, when he became addicted to alcohol. He agreed to be kept chained inside the attic until he no longer feels the need to drink.
Zhang's mother said that she doesn't know how long her son will have to stay chained in the attic, but she says that is the only way to get her old son back.
