A one-month-old Asian elephant has been sent to a wild elephant valley for treatment after being rescued by villagers in Simao district of Yunnan province. The calf elephant became lost in the wild and couldn't find its mother. Medical staff used goat milk as a substitute for mother's milk as the poor baby was too weak to drink water.
The elephant suffers from a series of health problems, including heart failure, umbilical cord decay and intestinal disorders and has been cared for by eight medics. It is still in a critical situation and staff members are trying their best to find its mother.
