More than 1,000 people from nearly 100 square dance teams in Wuzhi county, Jiaozuo city, Henan province on Friday participated in a mass square dance performance to mark the seventh National Fitness Day.
In 2009, the State Council deemed Aug 8 National Fitness Day to commemorate the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Since then, a series of national fitness programs have been introduced across China to promote participation in sports.
