It's so hot in Northwest China's Xinjing Uygur autonomous region that you can literally fry an egg on the sand.
Some tourists are reported frying eggs on plates set in the open air on Flaming Mountain, a scenic spot in Turpan, Xinjing Uygur autonomous region, when the local surface temperature reached nearly 75 C at noon.
The region topped the list of the hottest places in China for more than a week, as most of the area experienced temperatures of more than 40 C.
Faced with the scorching heat, people in Xinjiang are showing their sense of humor. One resident surnamed Wang said his wife reminded him to bring along salt and pepper to season himself evenly under the roasting hot sun.
