Interns fired for displays of affection at the office
When are public displays of affection acceptable? Are they unprofessional? A pair working as interns at the same company were fired just because they allegedly displayed their love in public at the office, Netease reported on Thursday.
According to video captured by a company surveillance camera, the young woman was seen feeding her boyfriend a corn cob while at work.
The pair soon received a warning from the company; later, they were fired for "disturbing the office by showing off their romance".
The girl, who's obviously infuriated by this, couldn't help but complain online: "How boring! We just showed our love, it's no big deal! What was wrong with those people in the company?"
In retaliation, the couple took more intimate photos in the office and posted them online before leaving their jobs.
The photos immediately caused a stir on social media, with someone saying, "Couples at my company all do it undercover while you showed off your romance. How daring!"
"It is already disturbing enough that couples feed each other in college canteens, and you did corn cobs in the office!" another one said.
