Eyeing Chairman Mao on misprinted money
A woman, surnamed Dong, from Jinan, Shandong province noticed something odd when she got change from a vegetable vendor Saturday: a misprinted 50 yuan ($8) featuring the familiar portrait of Chairman Mao, but one of his eyes was open and the other closed.
Dong said she used a fluorescent lamp to identify the note's watermark, and she also looked for help from a bank, which inspected the note and said it is genuine, dfic.cn reported.
