Actors ask for salary amid performance

Actors usually play out other people's stories on stage, but an art troupe from Hengnan county, Hengyang, Central China's Hunan province, choose to play a story of their own.

Actors in costume, asked for a salary in the middle of a performance with more than 500 audience and several local officials in the audience on July 9, 2015, thepaper.cn reported on Thursday.

They held up banners from a prop box, one of which read:" We have not gotten a salary for the past 18 years". The chaos soon ended with stage lights turned off and officials exiting the performance center.

An actor said they were forced to protest as they did, while a local publicity official, who declined to reveal his name, said the troupe wasn't paid for their negligence to duty.
