Four jailed for kidnapping sanitation worker's daughter

Four men went on trial for kidnapping the daughter of China's richest sanitation worker in Wuhan city, Hubei province, on Friday, according to a local website.

Liang Lihua, who used to be sanitation worker in Wuhan, became rich and famous overnight after she won a large sum in compensation. However, the money also brought her trouble.

Last December, her daughter was kidnapped by four suspects who demanded 5 million yuan ($805,58) in ransom. The woman informed police and her daughter was rescued.

The accused were sentenced to terms ranging from 15 to 17 years on Friday.
