A security guard allegedly stole hundreds of items in one year from a factory where he was employed and the loot was reportedly so massive that he could have opened a whole grocery store, Qian Jiang Evening News reported on Saturday.

The accused, Gu, was stopped by a policeman when he was spotted carrying two new suitcases. After learning that the items in the luggage were stolen, police searched his house. To their surprise the whole house was stuffed with things Gu had stolen from the factory.

Brooms, soaps, tissues, brushes and smaller things like pins and band-aids were all over the living room while hundreds of eggs, salt, and meat were stored in the kitchen.

Gu earned 2,000 yuan ($322) a month and has no wife and children. He said he just wanted to take advantage of the factory.
