Golden runway for New Year blessings
If you are looking to pray for good fortune in the upcoming Chinese New Year, here is a place you shouldn't miss.
The organizers of a Spring Festival temple fair in Luoyang, Central China's Henan province, have built an 18.6-meter-long runway of 1,000 gold bricks weighing one ton. With armored glass covering the bricks, visitors can walk on the glassy runway to pray for blessings.
The temple fair will be held in Guanlin (Guan Yu Temple), a scenic spot in Luoyang, during the Spring Festival holiday. Guanlin was built to commemorate the great general Guan Yu during the Three Kingdoms Period. Guan has been worshipped as the martial god of wealth for his loyalty and courage.
