Illegal construction leads to road cave-in
A cave-in in downtown Beijing turned out to be the result of an illegal basement, Xinhua News reported.
The ground in front of 93 Denei Avenue in Beijing caved in on Jan 24, leaving a gaping 15-meter-long, 5-meter-wide and 10-meter deep pit.
The property owner, Li Baojun, who wanted to dig a 18-meter-deep basement, is a deputy to the people's congress of Xuzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.
