High test scores go viral in China

One student's test scores at Beijing's prestigious Tsinghua University have gone viral online in China. By Wednesday, his scores had been retweeted by more than 41 000 netizens on the official Sina Weibo account of People's Daily.

Electronic engineering student, Han Yanjun's scores were publically shown as part of the University's Grand Scholarship competition, one of the highest honors for undergraduate students at the school.

The list showed junior student's academic performance during his time at the university. Han top marks in 20 courses during his junior year, with full 100 percent marks for 15 courses, 99 percent for 4 courses and 98 percent for one course.

His teacher, Irving Weissman, a tenured professor from Stanford University, thought highly of Han. "Yanjun has exceeded by far my expectations of even the best and most senior PhD students at Stanford University," Weissman said.
