Poppies found on campus
Poppies have been discovered growing in a high school in Zhoukou city, Henan province. Found in the corner of a yard, the plants were identified by students whose parents reported the matter to police who uprooted them. An investigation is underway, Dahe Daily reported.

Doctors and nurses who had treated the boy without appropriate precautions fear they may have been infected.
CEO's staff in fight with reporters
A man revealed on Weibo that assistants of Liu Qiangdong, founder and CEO of Jingdong, the nation's second largest online retailer, fought with reporters at an airport in Beijing on May 6. A reporter was injured and a camera damaged, Yangtse Evening Post reported.
Liu hit the headlines when his affair with Zhang Zetian, a Tsinghua University student known for her beauty, was exposed.

Wife seeks divorce after virginity confirmed
A woman in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, who had been married for six years, filed for a divorce after a hospital certified her virginity, Today Morning Express reported.
The woman, 31, and her husband were high school classmates. The husband always played computer games or went out in the evening and did not come back until the wife fell asleep. After the husband started to gamble, the wife asked a hospital to issue the report and filed a lawsuit.
"Corridor doctor" fired
Lan Yuefeng, a doctor known for exposing medical corruption, was fired by People's Hospital in Mianyang, Sichuan province on May 6, the Beijing News reported. All 88 staff deputies voted for her dismissal.
The hospital said Lan had been absent from work for more than 60 days while Lan claimed her sacking was an act of revenge. The doctor had been expelled by colleagues and stayed in a corridor at the hospital for more than 700 days since reporting medical dishonesty.
Man acquitted and awarded after 8 years
A man who had been held in detention for 3,143 days - nearly nine years - was awarded compensation of 720,000 yuan ($117,073) after he was acquitted in Nanyang, Henan province, Dongfang Jinbao News reported.
Li Guiyin was arrested on Sept 3, 2003, suspected of using rat poison to kill a father and daughter in Sheqi county in August 2003.
Police suspected in woman's death
Liu Weiying, 44, an employee of an insurance company in Langfang, Hebei province, was taken away by police on April 28 and died in an interrogation room 12 hours later, Beijing Times reported on Tuesday.
Members of Liu's family said she was healthy and had no congenital diseases, and said they suspect the police were responsible for her death. The report said they were refused permission to view a video surveillance recording from the interrogation room or to check Liu's body. The case has been transferred to the city's prosecutors for further investigation.
Star couple's baby gets Hong Kong residency
After reports that film and TV star couple Sun Li and Deng Chao could face a huge fine for having a second child, some media confirmed that the child has gained Hong Kong residency.
