Chengguan got jail
Four chengguan (urban management officers) in Linwu county, Hunan province, were sentenced to prison, and one of them will be jailed for 11 years, following a dispute with a melon farmer, which caused the death of the vendor on July 17, 2013, said the court in Yongxing county, Hunan province, pronouncing judgment on the prisoners on Friday.
Liao Weichang was sentenced to prison for 11 years, Yuan Cheng, Luo Weiping and Xia Jiyu got jail for six, four and

Shenzhen-Shanghai bullet train
The southeastern coast express rail service is now a bullet train. D2286 from Shenzhen North to Shanghai Hongqiao left at 9:55 am on Saturday for the first time. The whole journey only takes 12 hours and 17 minutes.

New Year 4D light show
An end-of-year countdown 4D light show opened for its first trial run in the Bund, Shanghai on Friday, and will make its debut on Dec 31.
The show features a little boy named Xiao Q, a cartoon image whose character is about to start a journey around the world. Spectators can share in the fun, which includes beautiful sea views and the mysterious lunar surface. The woman donated more than 700,000 yuan ($113,821) to primary schools in her hometown. Xu was an accountant in a construction company in Beijing before she retired in 1987.
Woman has a baby in metro station
A baby has been named Tiedan, meaning "iron egg" (usually referring to a tough kid) in Chinese, by netizens in Wuhan after he was born in a metro station on Thursday morning, Hubei Daily reported. The boy weighed 2.65 kilograms. The mother, who had been pregnant for 36 weeks, entered the station as she was making her way to a hospital.

A photo of a 4- or 5-year-old child sledding through the snow on a tire in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, has gone viral on the Internet.
