Scholar lost job for picture scandal
Ji Yuhua, the 54-year-old head of College of Foreign Languages and Culture at Xiamen University, has stepped aside from his post after his recent picture scandal which widespread via the Internet, Xinhua News Agency said.
In the picture, Ji kissed the belly of a 27-year-old unmarried pregnant woman whose mother said her daughter was defrauded since Ji was a married man.
Fully respect the public’s complaints
Li Gao, deputy chief of the State Bureau for Letters and Calls said on Thursday the country has fully respect the public’s complaints under its petition system and local authorities will be accountable if the public cannot have their rights in the sector.
His words was response to a saying that there was an illegal jail in Beijing to restrict freedom of person who filed petitions.
Luo Changping left from his post
Luo Changping, a deputy editor of Caijing magazine has left his post on Wednesday, sina.com reported.
Luo used his real name on the Internet to first expose corruption of Liu Tienan, former deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission and former chief of the National Energy Administration last year.
Overseas students cannot cook
About 20 percent of overseas students said they cannot cook by themselves and more than 40 percent of them said they were always eating outside, said Xinhua News Agency, citing a survey conducted by Central Queensland University.
Some overseas students suffered from malnutrition since they always ate breads for their two meals a day, the survey said.
