A public hearing on whether local automobiles should be switched off when they need to park for more than three minutes was held in Beijing on Thursday, in which local residents, experts and government authorities discussed the move, the Beijing News reported.

The regulation was seen as an effort to reduce capital city's heavy air pollution.
