On the theme of "Promoting Public Body Building, Establishing Northern Tourist Base", the second Royal Ice Cascade Tourism Season will kick off in Xinlong county on January 6 and last until January 26.
There will be a variety of activities unveiled to the public, including an ice skating competition, ice-sport competition, ice cascade photo contest and snow and ice performance.
Xinglong, a county of Chengde city in North China's Hebei province, utilizes several pipes to sprinkle water to build man-made ice cascades due to its mountain and climate resources.
Tourists from surrounding areas including Beijing, Tianjin and Tangshan often visit in mass groups each winter. And it is expected that a total of 150,000 visitors will come to see the ice cascade.
