The idea is to enter the nest as a larva and after being pampered by the expert hands of the masseur, emerge from the nest like a beautiful butterfly. For me, The Nest has indeed successfully achieved its mission.

The metamorphosis begin with a cold deep blue-colored welcome elixir, the tea of a blue flower called Butterfly Pea. The drink emits a light, green tea fragrance but more earthy to the palate. Sarah says the drink has detoxification properties but a check on the Web later reveals that it is also good for eyesight, hair, skin, blood circulation, those with urinary problems, slows down aging process and enhance immunity. Sounds like a magic potion.

After choosing the essential massage oil I fancy for the treatment, Sarah gives me a foot scrub using a mixture of milk and lime.

Breathe in, breathe out. Three times. And the journey of being unwind and recharged begins. The soothing background music of nature mixed with piped music with water sound, and the firm hands of Sarah carry me to paradise.

The session ends with a warm cup of Butterfly Pea tea and local fruits, with Sarah sharing with me health and wellness tips such as no late night cold showers to prevent rheumatism, and to go for frequent massage to improve blood circulation.

Indigo Pearl also provides eight luxurious treatment rooms in the enclave called Coqoon Spa with a wide selection of mind, body and spirit treatments including those specially tailored for pregnant women. Coqoon Spa features individual pools, rain showers, steam rooms and sauna.

Taking advantage of Thailand’s rich array of plants, herbs and spices, guests are spoilt for choice by their range of aromatic body treatments, scrubs and wraps, facial treatments, hand and foot care, and salon treatments.

The resort also extend the journey of wellness to their custom-made Spa Suites where individual experiences are tailored to suit specific needs, including diet, exercise, activity, rest and relaxation and spa treatments. For me, spa treatment is a must when I go for vacation in Thailand, otherwise, it is incomplete.
