Hundreds of government officials, business associates and community partners gathered recently at the Sands Macao to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Macao's first leisure and entertainment complex owned and operated by an international operator has set the benchmark for Macao's development.
"We’re not only celebrating that it’s been 10 years since we opened our first property in Macao, but also the growth of Macao into a world center of tourism and leisure," said Edward Tracy, president and CEO of Sands China Ltd. Government officials attending the ceremony included Fernando Chui Sai-on, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region; Edmund Ho Hau-wah, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Qiu Hong, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao; and Huang Xingqian, director-general of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao.
Sands Macao features seven specialty restaurants and lounges offering a variety of cuisines, such as beef steak and Cantonese dishes. The hotel’s 289 luxury suites, ranging from 55 to 743 square meters, are decorated with modern, luxurious amenities.
As a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands Corp in the United States, Sands China Ltd is the leading developer, owner and operator of multi-purpose integrated resorts in Macao.
The company's combined properties offer more than 600 retail outlets with high- and medium-end brands, over 9,000 hotel rooms at different price points, and live entertainment such as concerts and sport events.
