Test flight
A Boeing A319 passenger plane from Air China's southwest branch in Chengdu recently landed at Daocheng-Yading Airport in Sichuan's Ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture. It was the first test flight from Chengdu to Daocheng-Yading Airport, which is the world's highest-altitude airport at 4,411 meters above sea level. The route will become operational next May, and will shave the travel time from Chengdu to Daocheng, also known as "the last Shangri-La", to one hour.
