Chopsticks Day celebrated in Japan

A woman throws a bundle of chopsticks into fire, praying to the Gods for health in Hie Shrine in Tokyo, Japan. August 4 is Chopsticks Day in Japan. Around 100 citizens go to Hie Shrine, throwing 7,000 pair of chopsticks into fire to pray for health. Japan set August 4 as Chopsticks Day in 1980 to appreciate chopsticks' contribution to meals.[Photo/Xinhua]
