Inmarsat confirmed its network received "routine automated signals" from MH370.

The Chinese navy's Haizhou missile destroyer, which has been conducting the search in the Gulf of Thailand where MH370 reportedly went missing, was ordered to move toward the Malacca Strait, the aircraft's new suspected location.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak held a news conference and said the plane's last communication with the satellite was in one of two possible corridors: a northern corridor stretching roughly from the border of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to northern Thailand, or a southern corridor stretching roughly from Indonesia to the southern Indian Ocean. He also announced Malaysia is ending the search in the South China Sea.
