On the morning of July 14th, 2011, the "Universiade Torch Low Carbon China Tour" press conference was held at the Universiade Bureau. Information concerning the torch relay and Universiade school tours was shared at the conference. Chief of torch relay headquarters Zang Chen, Universiade project manager of Tencent Company Zhang Dong Bo and "Universiade Torch Low Carbon China Tour" manager Wang Wei Yi all attended.

"Ride the World", former courier team of the Guangzhou Asian Games, together with Tencent Company and Xinhua News Agency, planned "Universiade Torch Low Carbon China Tour". The torch relay takes place between July 9th and August 9th. The highlight of this event is that 10 torches run through 10 different theme routes.

The 10 routes include Seaside Economics, National Culture, The Long March, The 8 Ancient Cities, Northeastern Frontiers, Bohai Bay, The Silk Road, South of the Colorful Clouds, Top of the World and Happy Guangdong Tour, covering the majority of Chinese cities and provinces. This event spreads the idea of "Unique wonder starts here". At the same time, participants will upload diaries, photos, videos and stories, communicating with billions of Chinese citizens.

Meanwhile, the online virtual torch relay is in full swing. As of 9:30 a.m. July 13th, the number of virtual torch relay participants has reached 5.25 million, including 750 thousand participants that were registered under their actual names. At the end of July, 10 virtual participants will be randomly chosen to participate in the actual torch relay.
