SHENZHEN - The first training session of the 26th Universiade News Service Team (UNS) was held on May 27th in Shenzhen. And Mr. Xu Jicheng, one of the top sportswriters in China as well as a senior expert of media operations, was among the lecturers. Members of the UNS team and managers of media operations from 29 competition venues of the Universiade attended the program.

During the Universiade, the UNS team will be responsible for preparing news releases in English, which include Flash Quotes, Press Conference Highlights, Media Communication, etc. Xinhua News Agency is the manager of UNS and dozens of foreign experts will join the team as Sports Information Specialists and editors.

Xu Jicheng, a senior journalist from Xinhua News Agency and once a professional basketball player himself, has been one of the most renowned basketball commentators in China for years. During the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, he served as the Deputy Director of the Media Operations Department and the Deputy Chief of the Main Press Center (MPC). He was also the top manager of the News Service of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.
