Figure skater Javier Fernandez to be Spain's flag bearer in Sochi

MADRID - European figure skating champion Javier Fernandez was picked to carry the Spain flag at next month's Sochi Winter Olympic Games, the Spanish Olympic Committee announced on Tuesday.
Fernandez, currently training in Canada, retained his European title in Budapest on Saturday. He also won bronze at last year's world championships.
The 22-year-old is one of the 21 Spanish athletes attending the Games that opens on February 7 in the Russian resort city.
