KOBE, Japan - Chinese athlete Su Bingtian won the men's 100-meter race in 10.21 seconds at the Asian Athletics Championships in Kobe, Japan on Friday.

Su was followed by Japanese players Masashi Eriguchi and Sota Kawatsura, whose scores were 10.28 and 10.30 seconds respectively.

The race, affected by a false start by Eriguchi, proved to be a tight one, but the 22-year-old Su strived to lead it in the final seconds. Admitting that the race was a tough one, he said he was satisfied with the results.

Su owed the gold to his new training method, which put greater importance on the final 40 meters.

"The results show the method works," Su said.
