ZURICH - IOC President Jacques Rogge urged FIFA on Tuesday to take the example from his organization and emerge from the current troubles stronger.

Rogge, when addressing the opening ceremony of FIFA Congress at the Hallenstadion in Zurich, said he took advantage of the link to address FIFA "not as president of the IOC but as a true lover of football."

"FIFA is now facing allegations and controversies just as, 13 years ago, we in the IOC had to face the same ordeal in the Salt Lake City case. The IOC, ultimately, emerged as a stronger organization and from within. This calls for humility," he said.

"I would not lecture you and point my fingers on you, but I am sure that FIFA can also emerge stronger and from within," he said.
