GUANGZHOU, South China - The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) will examine more details in their further investigation into the disqualification of an athlete for tucking extra scoring sensors at the Asian Games.

The WTF secretary-general Yang Jin-Suk said at a news conference here Friday that a further investigation will be carried out on the basis of the on-spot video footage.
Yang Shu-chun was disqualified from the Games on Wednesday after the competition supervision commission ruled that she was wearing extra electronic sensors inside her socks against Vietnam's Vu Thi Hau with the intention of boosting her scoring chances.
Yang Jin-Suk said the Chinese Taipei fighter is of great potential and the WTF will not like her "to get hurt".
He said the rule-violation incident was purely "technical" and further decision will be made after discussion by the WTF if there is any mistake that occurred during the process.
After the incident, the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office expressed regrets for the athlete.
"Yang Shu-chun is a very competitive taekwondo athlete. We feel regretful over what happened," said Fan Liqing, a spokeswoman for the Office.
Fan added that the mainland could not comment on the ruling of the Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU), but said she had knowledge that during the incident, ATU officials from the mainland did their best to minimize its damage to the Chinese Taipei taekwondo team.
