On the sidelines of Thursday's press conference concerning Lebanon's participation of the Games, Ezzat Kraytem, secretary general of the LOC, said that the country would have the medal-winning chances in shooting, athletics and taekwondo.

The 16th Asian Games will start on November 12 in South China's Guangzhou City. Lebanese delegation for the Games is composed of 78 persons, including 25 official and 53 athletes, who will compete in 15 events like shooting, athletics, judo, golf, table tennis, etc..

Lebanon four years ago won one gold medal (high jumping) and two bronze medals in the 15th Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Only 15 athletes joined the Games as the country suffered a 34-day conflict with Israel that year.

Lebanese Youth and Sports Minister Ali Hussein on the press conference encouraged the country's athletes to try their best to win more medals for Lebanon.

The first group of the athletes will arrive in Guangzhou Tuesday next week.
