SEOUL - South Korean singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong will sing the official theme song at the opening ceremony of the 16th Asian Games slated for Nov 12-27 in Guangzhou, China, his agency said Wednesday.

The opening ceremony is expected to draw about 100,000 spectators and will be broadcast live across Asia.
Kim received a proposal from the Asian Games organizing committee due to his fame in Asia, the agency said. He will sing the song in Chinese before the torch lightening ceremony, it added.
The 24-year-old star won popularity throughout Asia for his role in the 2009 South Korean hit television drama series, "Boys Over Flowers".
