Overseas Chinese donates diamonds to Guangzhou Asian Games

Guangzhou, August 8 - Overseas Chinese Zheng Chuhui, President of the Board of the Valley View Hotspring Resort in Conghua, Guangzhou - a designated hotel of the 16th Asian Games, donated a pair of South African diamonds to the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) on August 8. The pair of diamonds which weighed about 10 carats, valued over RMB2,000,000, was used to decorate the two "eyes" of an art car named "Auspicious Dragon", designed by Guangzhou CPPCC member, ivory carving artist Su Zhongyang.

Leaders dot the diamond eyeballs of the "Auspicious Dragon" with the scarce Conghua hot spring water to wish Guangzhou Asian Games a full success.

After gold medalist of Olympic Games Weightlifting, Chen Xiaomin unveiled the art car, Vice Chairman of Guangzhou CPPCC Ping Xinguang and Deputy Secretary General of GAGOC Gu Shiyang, dotted the diamond eyeballs of the "Auspicious Dragon" with the scarce Conghua hot spring water to wish Guangzhou Asian Games a full success.

The art car will afterwards be free exhibited in Guangzhou Grandview Plaza and auctioned before the Opening Ceremony of the Asian Games in November. The proceeds will be fully donated to GAGOC.

GAGOC honoured Mr Zheng with a certificate for his support for the Games.

On the other hand, leaders from GAGOC, Guangzhou CPPCC and Conghua unveiled for the Valley View Hotspring Resort located in Conghua. It is a resort for recreation and vacation and covers an area of about 260 acres, integrating a diamond five-star hotel, a 4A hot spring area, a hot-spring cottage and hotel apartments. The Asian Games equestrian events are to be held in Conghua this November, and the resort is expected to provide best services for participating horse riders as well as spectators.
