PARIS - Jamaican sprint king Usain Bolt beat compatriot Asafa Powell to claim title in the 100m at the Diamond League meeting on Friday.
Bolt clocked 9.84 seconds, a new meet record, to claim the title. Powell finished second in 9.91, while another Jamaican sprinter, Yohan Blake, was third in 9.95 to manage a podium sweep for their country.
"It wasn't the best race I've ever had in my life. My first part was awful. At the 50 meters, I thought he (Powell) had me. I had to work a little bit harder to get back in the race," said Bolt after the race, who is now enjoying a 14 unbeaten surge in 100m arena.
