China's No.1 snooker player Ding Junhui has been devoted to his career and has no time for falling in love, his mother said as the talent celebrates his 23rd birthday this month.

"He has always been working hard on practicing snooker. His networking is restricted and he doesn't have many opportunities to meet girls," the Jinling Evening News reported.

The mother also denied that his son had an affair with Pan Xiaoting, one of the most outstanding 9-ball players in China, calling them "just good friends."

According to his mother, there are girls who like Ding, but "he has no time to think about dating" because he values his career above everything else.

After the China Open, Ding plans to return to Britain for the most important event of the year- World Snooker Championship. At the end of 2010 he will enter the Asian Games on behalf of China.

"He has set his mind on winning the world champion," his mother said with a smile. "And this is also his birthday wish."
