Inter coach Mourinho charged over derby outburst

ROME: Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho faces a disciplinary hearing for his outburst after Sunday's Milan derby, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) said on Tuesday.

Mourinho said that "everything was done for us not to win this match" after beating second-placed AC Milan 2-0 despite having two players sent off to go nine points clear at the top of Serie A.

The Portuguese also said the game had left a "strange taste" in his mouth, adding that: "I've realised they won't let us wrap up the championship early".

He was particularly angry with the red card shown to Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder, who was sent off in the 27th minute for sarcastically applauding the referee.

The FIGC said on its website (www.figc.it) that Mourinho had been charged for comments damaging to the "credibility of federal institutions and casting doubt on the regularity of the championship".

The club and Inter chief executive Ernesto Paolillo have been charged too. Paolillo questioned the Italian Soccer League's neutrality after AC Milan managed to reschedule a fixture to have the week before the derby free, like their city rivals.
