The match, which features newly-crowned Serie A champion Inter Milan and Cup winners Lazio, will be the first sports event to be held after the Paralympic Games' closing ceremony last September, Sun Kanglin, director of the Beijing Sports Bureau, told a news conference.

The iconic Bird's Nest stadium, the centrepiece of last year's Olympics, has become a tourists' must-see site after the Olympic Games.

But the stadium officials has said that it is difficult to find regular users. Up to now, it has only witnessed a concert from movie star Jackie Chan early this month.

It will be the fourth time for the Italian Super Cup, inaugurated in 1988, to be held outside Italy. It was held in the United States twice and Libia once.
